RAF Lakenheath is one of the mayor USAF airbases in Europe housing the 48th Operations Group comprising of three squadrons of F-15: 492, 493 and 494 Fighter Squadrons. The 493 use the C/D type airdefence F-15’s while the other (492 and 494) use the twin seat F-15E fighter bomber.
