On April 11, 1994, history was written on the airfield Pütnitz. For the last time fighter jets of the type Mig-29 lifted off from the Pütnitzer concrete runway and flew towards home, to Andreapol. Not only half a century of military use of the Pütnitz airfield by Russian aviation forces came to an end. They were the last Russian fighter planes to leave Germany.
