JMSDF Ozuki hosts the 201 Kyoiku Kokutai which provides primary flight training for the Fleet air force.
The Fuji T-5 or KM-2Kai is a Japanese turboprop-driven primary trainer aircraft, which is a development of the earlier Fuji KM-2. The student and the instructor sit side-by-side.
JGSDF Hofu like Shizuhama provides initial airfore pilot flight training for the Japan Air Self Defense Force. The aircraft is the Fuji T-7, which is a turbine development from the piston engined T-3; which on itself is a development from the T-34 Mentor.
